Please use the SHS Community Service Form to track your volunteer hours and to get more information about obtaining volunteer service recognition at graduation. Another great way to be engaged in your community is to GET OUT AND VOTE!! If you are 18 or will be turning 18 this year you can easily register online to vote at www.RegisterToVote.ca.gov

Celebrating Differences Carnival: Next Saturday, September 21, SHS is partnering with Saratoga City to hold the second annual "Celebrating Differences Carnival" for Individuals with Special Needs.The event will be in the Joan Pisani Center (119655 Allendale Ave, Saratoga) and has shifts from 1-3pm, 2:30-6pm, and 5-7pm. Scratch-a-thon: 
The Bay Area Youth Computer Science Council needs volunteers for Scratch-a-thon on September 22, 2:30-5:30 pm at the Saratoga Library. Scratchathon is a hackathon designed for students in grade 3-5 using Scratch. Participants will explore how to make interactive stories, animations, and more. Any high schoolers are welcome, with or without coding experience, to volunteer at this event. They will offer 3 hours of volunteer hours (if you volunteers stay for the entire event)! Interested? 19th Annual Hakone Chakai: Hakone Chakai is in need of 10 volunteers on Saturday, October 12th and 40 volunteers on Sunday, October 13th for their Japanese Tea Ceremony. Saturday shifts are from 3-6pm. Sunday shifts are either from 8:30am-1:30pm or 1pm-6pm. Volunteers can do a double shift on Sunday. Want to volunteer or have questions? West Valley Community Services: Many volunteer opportunities are available at this private, non-profit community based agency in Cupertino that provides a continuum of basic needs, family support services, housing resources and case management to low-income or homeless clients.
