8th Grade Sports Night Slides Dear Parents/Guardians and Athletes,
Welcome to the Saratoga High School Athletic Program! We are excited for the upcoming season. Below you will find directions for registering your son and/or daughter. The FALL registration window is open. The FALL season will officially begin Monday, AUGUST 7. Thank you and I look forward to meeting you all soon!
In order to participate in athletics this fall, you must be registered on Athletic Clearance. Please read the directions below for registration information.
Please make sure a parent/guardian is the person completing the registration. Students cannot legally sign the required documents. ANY REGISTRATION COMPLETED BY A STUDENT EMAIL ADDRESS WILL BE DENIED AND THE ACCOUNT DELETED.
Students may only sign up for ONE (1) sport per season. If your student changes their mind about the sport they signed up for, contact the Athletics Office to complete the change.
We must have a new physical exam turned in each school year. If you had a physical within the last 12 months, download the form during registration and have it filled out by your doctor. If you need to get a physical, schedule an appointment with your doctor to make sure you can get it completed before tryouts begin. The state will not waive this requirement for COVID-19 so plan accordingly. Click Here for the physical forms.
PLEASE MAKE SURE THE DOCTOR SIGNS, STAMPS, AND COMPLETES THE DATE OF PHYSICAL ON THE FORM OR WE CANNOT ACCEPT IT.
Medical Insurance is required to play high school athletics. If you do not have medical insurance, you can purchase coverage through the school. Please contact Mrs. Ybarra, the Activities Secretary (firstname.lastname@example.org) before registering to obtain school insurance information.
To complete the clearance process, scan and upload the forms below to your Athletic Clearance account. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT PAPER FORMS THIS YEAR; DO NOT DROP THEM OFF AT THE OFFICE.

Once your forms have been reviewed and approved you will receive an email letting you know your student is cleared. Coaches will have an app and will not allow students to try out or practice until they see you are cleared. We will no longer require a “TICKET TO PLAY.”
Athletic contributions are essential in funding our interscholastic athletic program. We ask that families make a modest donation to SHS athletics. For sports that use buses and have referees we ask for $250 per athlete, for sports with just referees $100 and for sports with neither bus costs nor officiating costs we ask for $50. The money we generate from these donations will pay for a number of our annual athletic costs including: league, section and state dues $12,000, referees $35,000, athletic training supplies $4,000, awards $4,000 and gas for team vans $1,500. You can donate on the SHS web store or bring in a check to Ms. Ybarra in the activities office.
In addition, each sport is required to submit a budget of their program’s expenses. These budgets will be presented to you at your parent meeting so you can see how that number was derived. Teams will be asked to fund raise, and/or ask for donations, to pay for each team's individual expenses. Budgets will also be posted on the athletics website and all donations collected will go directly toward your student’s sport.
