Student Assistants

Student Assistants (Teacher Assistants)

Student assistants help teachers with activities including assisting students individually or in small groups with class work, correcting papers, preparing and/or presenting portions of lessons to the class and otherwise performing tasks which require knowledge of a specific subject.

In an office setting, student assistants perform such tasks as delivering messages, collecting attendance, running errands, filing, typing, answering telephones and other activities of a largely clerical nature.

The course is graded pass/fail as judged by attitude, responsibility, efficiency, attendance, punctuality, and other criteria established by the supervising school person.  Each successful semester is worth 5 credits.

To apply, please complete the Student Assistant Contract (download for a writeable PDF copy) and forward it to the Guidance Office  for processing.
