Student Assistants

This course is graded pass/fail as judged by attitude, responsibility, efficiency, attendance, punctuality, and other criteria established by the supervising school person.  Each successful semester is worth 5 credits.

To apply, please complete the Student Assistant Contract (download for a writeable PDF copy) and forward it to the Guidance Office  for processing.

Student Assistants Assigned to Teachers
Student assistants help teachers with activities including assisting students individually or in small groups with class work, correcting papers, preparing and/or presenting portions of lessons to the class and otherwise performing tasks which require knowledge of a specific subject.

Student Assistants Working in the Office
In an office setting, student assistants perform such tasks as delivering messages, collecting attendance, running errands, filing, typing, answering telephones and other activities of a largely clerical nature. 

Student Assistants Working in the Library
In the Saratoga High School library, student assistants perform such tasks as moving and organizing books, creating books and game displays, creating signs on shelves, and manning the library front desk for book and map requests.
