Los Altos Hacks will host their seventh high school hackathon this April! It is a 100% free hackathon with $25,000 in prizes, fun activities, free swag, shirts, tote bags, and so much more! All meals and snacks will be provided and entrance is free! Los Altos Hacks VII will take place at the Juniper Aspiration Dome in Sunnyvale, CA on April 8-9.
Learn from professional mentors, meet experienced judges, and attend workshops hosted by industry leaders in computer science and engineering. Network with students with similar interests and professionals in the tech industry. We welcome hackers of all levels and backgrounds, from experts to beginners with little to no coding background!

POSSIBLY BEING OFFERED IN 2023-24 ACADEMIC YEAR:
The Santa Cruz Institute for Particle Physics (SCIPP) is hosting a Particle Physics Masterclass for interested high school students. Students who register will spend one day gaining insights on methods used in particle physics. This will be accomplished through the analysis of actual data from the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) at CERN. Results will be discussed with other students, as well as scientists from CERN and Fermilab. There is no cost to attend! It is a great opportunity to experience a real-world research environment and learn about Physics alongside scientists from UC Santa Cruz and SCIPP as well as CERN and Fermilab. This is also an especially exciting chance for students preparing to apply for or attend university in a science or research field.
The Masterclass itself will take place at the UC Santa Cruz campus on March 4th, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Register at tinyurl.com/scippmasterclass2023 Deadline to register: ~February 2024.

UCSB, VSA/Vietnamese Student Association Conference: Vietnamese Outreach Initiative for College Education.
Interested in learning about college life? Want to learn more about applying to college and achieving higher education? UCSB VSA (Vietnamese Student Association) invites you to apply to our annual youth conference VOICE (Vietnamese Outreach Initiative for College Education). This conference is hosted by UCSB Vietnamese Student Association, and takes place online ~April 2024. This experience includes a mentorship program, keynote speakers, workshops, a UCSB student-led panel as well as fun activities. VOICE aims not only to empower students to pursue a higher education but to also encourage students to learn about Vietnamese history and cultural identity. We hope all students leave VOICE inspired to become leaders in their own communities.
Who can apply?
You do NOT need to be Vietnamese! However, this program is geared towards low-income Asian American students, specifically Vietnamese American high school students. We still encourage all students, regardless of ethnicity, religion, or gender identity to apply! Applications will be chosen based on the quality of their application.
Why apply?
You will be able to learn about the college application process, learn how to afford college, form strong relationships with mentors, make new friends, learn more about your identity, and develop strong leadership skills. This is an amazing opportunity in gaining additional insight to higher education.

Rotary/Enterprise Leadership Conference
What: A 3-day/2-night conference held at Asilomar Conference Center in Pacific Grove (near Carmel/Monterey). Create a company, identify a product/service, select your company's officers, create a business plan, present your business plan. Learn entrepreneurship, finance, leadership, marketing, sales, HR. Who: future juniors in the Class of 2025, from Saratoga, Los Gatos, Sunnyvale, Campbell, Santa Clara, Mountain View, Los Altos, and Dublin; 60 will be chosen, and put onto 10 teams of 6 each. No minimum GPA, no course prerequisites, no specific background or work experience required. Cost: free! Deadline: December 2023 (presentation at Saratoga HS in November 2023)
